Signature Dish of the Day: Homemade Pizza
Signature Dish of the Day: In honor of #Throwback Thursday today, our signature dish is a major throwback to a homemade pizza I made a few years ago. I have to admit that I've not made much pizza at home since then for some reason...perhaps I've been subconsciously watching our overall carb intake 😅...or it could just be that more new dishes have taken a more primary position in our home menu to the extent that pizza has inadvertently been relegated to the fringes...oh well. While I have nothing against regular takeout pizza, I have to say that nothing beats a warm, freshly-made homemade pizza in my view! It's also surprisingly easy to make. For this particular recipe, I used this lovely store-bought Stonefire brand artisanal pizza crust as my base and topped it with a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese, chicken sausage, tomatoes, and some pineapple slices. Yes, I think pineapple on pizza is absolutely delicious! I am also not a big fan of tomato sauce, so I always leave this out of my pizza recipe since that is my personal preference. For future recipes, I am going to attempt making my crust dough from scratch, so be on the lookout for that hopefully in the coming months. I baked the pizza at 350℉ and after a mere 10 minutes it was ready to go....to the dinner table! Simple, easy, fresh, and deliciously tasty...I strongly encourage you to give homemade pizza a try sometime for an easy dinner meal. Enjoy!
