Signature Dish of the Day: Basil & Parmesan Spaghetti Squash
Signature Dish of the Day: Happy Friday! Wrapping up our vegetarian-themed week in style with this beautiful Basil & Parmesan Spaghetti Squash as our signature dish of the day today! I've posted previously about how I find spaghetti squash absolutely amazing, so I decided to take a different approach to cooking this unique vegetable once again this week. The result? A delightfully delicious dish that is not only crunchy and packed with flavor, but also healthy and incredibly satisfying 😋! For this recipe, I cut my medium-sized spaghetti squash into half, scooped out all the seeds inside, then seasoned both halves with about 1 tablespoon each of extra virgin olive oil, some salt, ground black pepper, and smoked paprika. I then placed them into a large baking dish with the cut sections facing downward and poked some holes on their skins using a fork to allow for even cooking. Thereafter, I baked them at 400℉ for 45 minutes before removing from the oven, flipping them to face upwards, and sprinkling about 1 tablespoon of grated parmesan to each half. I then placed them back into the oven (still facing upwards) and let the cheese set for another 5 minutes. Finally, I scraped out the beautifully cooked strands into a plate using a fork (check out our previous video highlight on how to do this with art and grace 😁), then garnished them with some dry basil flakes to add that extra burst of flavor and aroma. I actually didn't serve this immediately as I had made it earlier in the day, but when dinnertime arrived, I simply warmed it up in a griddle for about 10 minutes, added a dash of paprika, and served hot with some delicious beef ragout we had made earlier. I'll admit this recipe definitely requires, nay, demands a lot of patience, but take it from me - it is well worth every single second and effort you invest into it, so give it a try some time and let us know how it goes. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
